Purpose
The awareness sessions provide feedback from TMR & AAPA members on
news, high value systems and products with a focus on listening and sharing.
This session has as focus “Innovation in the regions - helping it happen”
and will bring details on new systems in TMR that will allow for rapid benefits
to be brought to the regions. Asset owners, consultants and contractors can
participate in the changes and tailor them to match the regions specific needs.
Specifically covered in the awareness sessions will be:

- Innovation – changes in TMR to simplify the transition and opportunities
from available systems & products - Buying roads to provide “functional” outcomes - regional needs and long
term demand - Campaigns on maintenance funding benefits “Fix It First” drive and
improving road network resilience “Build It To Last” - Feedback on :
- spray seal and asphalt contract systems
- light duty asphalt – delivery systems for Local Government Asphalt
- NACOE projects 2016 report and 2017 plans

Session Details
To update, inform and consult stakeholders (e.g. industry, regions) on TMR’s
leadership in innovation, new technology for pavements and road surfaces
including their introduction to Queensland.
AAPA members will provide feedback on changes to their operating
environment and industry campaigns to promote standards, efficiency,
maintenance & asset preservation with increased funding for the sector.
A key component of the Awareness Session will be explaining the
Transport & Main Roads plans to fast track cost saving innovations into
practice across Queensland.
